Situated in the principal vine growing area of Cyprus, Pissouri is situated half way between Lemessos and Paphos and is a great base from which to explore both places. It extends from the traditional village on the hillside, down to the sheltered Bay with its clear blue sea, both areas possessing a unique character and charm.
Pissouri Bay has an informal collection of excellent fish tavernas and restaurants along the fringe of the sand and shingle beach, all within easy walking distance. Several water sports are available here during the summer season. In the summer, there is a typical Cypriot night with the dancing and music enjoyed by holiday makers and locals alike Pissouri Square has a delightful feel to it and visitors are always pleased to see it has retained its original Cypriot character. It boasts a good array of tavernas and restaurants.
Pissouri village is perhaps the only seaside village in Cyprus which has retained its original architecture and environment. Pissouri village itself stands on a hilltop with a sea level difference (from Pissouri Jetty) of 250 metres and for the most part is built using solid stone walls.
The village income is mainly from agriculture (vineyards) and the local vineyards set in the valley (next to the villa) are considered to be some of the best on the island. The village has extensive forestland which provides miles for walking in a most pleasant and enjoyable environment.
The Pissouri village centre has been preserved with Governmental assistance and a village square which is surrounded be small family run restaurants and cafes, is extremely popular among both locals and foreign visitors.
Pissouri,in addition to the family run businesses in the village itself, provides shops / entertainment / restaurants situated within the bay.
Sports -Sea sports are available on the beach, while the walkways and agricultural roads are available for those who want to walk within nature.
