Frenaros is a traditional Cypriot village in the Famagusta District of Cyprus, with a population of about four and a half thousand people.
The village of Frenaros has its own small Byzantine churches. Two of them, the Agios Andronikos and the Archangelos Michail date back to the 12th century. The church of Agia Marina has some interesting frescoes painted by different artists.
It has just about everything you need here, all within walking distance. There are a few kebab/souvlaki places. There are 3 bakeries a few banks, a few grocery stores, serveral Peripteros, some pubs/bars (but no major nightlife), a pharmacy, a DIY store, some shoe and clothing shops, a fish shop, butchers etc.
Dherynia, Vrysoulles, Sotira, Avgorou, and Liopetri have many tavernas and they are all a short drive away.
Protaras and Ayia Napa and all the wonderful sandy beaches of the Famagusta District are all just 10 minutes drive away.
